Building Leadership Capacity
Simply put, no system can change without good leadership.
We believe that school improvement will take quality leadership from both the public school system and from the community. A major task of the Alliance is working to build capacity both inside our local school systems and in our communities at large. While our work with District PTA's and numerous other community groups is on-going, our signature events include partnering with The Times, our daily newspaper, to honor and recognize community leadership, and our annual Education Leadership Conference, held each February. The February Conference attracts most principals and key central office staff in a larger 10-parish area.
